The client is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Director to join a growing Private Client Tax team. The role involves advising a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and founder-led businesses, family offices and private wealth clients, shareholders preparing for business exits, and internationally mobile individuals and business owners. You will provide strategic tax guidance on complex personal and business matters, including succession planning, business exits, transactions, restructuring, and residence and domicile issues, while combining technical excellence with client leadership and business development.
This is a key leadership position within a collaborative, partner-led environment. You will lead a significant client portfolio and act as a trusted adviser, maintaining strong long-term relationships. Responsibilities include delivering complex private client tax advice across a broad range of planning and technical topics, working with partners on strategic advisory projects and major engagements, and overseeing the delivery of compliance and advisory services to ensure high standards of client service. You will also manage portfolio financial performance, including billing and work-in-progress management, and support the development of Managers and Senior Managers to strengthen ownership of both relationships and delivery.
As part of growing the practice, you will identify opportunities to expand services to existing clients and win new business. You will lead business development initiatives through networking and market-facing events, and collaborate with specialists across corporate tax, transaction services, VAT, and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. The role is expected to suit a CTA and/or ACA qualified professional with extensive private client tax experience in a professional services environment, strong technical capability, proven leadership of complex client relationships, a commercially minded approach, and a track record in business development and team coaching and development.
