Description

The client seeks a strategic, servant-leader to serve as its next president and continue building on the institution’s distinctiveness while nurturing a vibrant culture aligned with its mission of educating men and women toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society. The president will be expected to foster a strong sense of belonging and community, lead with an ethic of love and graciousness, and set clear institutional direction focused on mission and purpose, navigating the institution’s future with courage, boldness, and humility.

The role includes serving as a central figurehead for the educational, spiritual, and community life of the client. The president is expected to uphold, professionally and personally, the client’s faith and educational objectives reflected in its essential commitments, and to ensure broad community alignment with its faith orientation and supporting statements of faith. The university describes itself as a private Christian institution with an evangelical faith base and a diverse community of students and employees; the president is expected to support and guide this community in a nonsectarian manner consistent with the institution’s stated faith emphases.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate an earned terminal degree from an accredited university and at least ten years of demonstrated leadership in an academic or similar setting. The client seeks individuals with a strong affinity for the institution’s Christian values, including familiarity with traditions connected to the Anabaptist, Pietist, and Wesleyan framework, and with the ability to embody the client’s motto and approach that emphasizes a balanced, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership style. Prospective leaders will support the institution’s mission and educational objectives while strengthening institutional culture and community engagement.
