The AAF has made significant progress in recent years, becoming financially stable, well-governed, and respected as a credible partner to Alumni, Donors, and policymakers. The organization has expanded its national advocacy efforts and is now recognized as a trusted, nonpartisan resource to members of Congress. The President & CEO role offers a unique leadership opportunity for an alum who understands the Academy's culture, history, and federal context, and can effectively lead within a small, complex, and highly relationship-centered organization. The individual in this role will be responsible for sustaining donor confidence, strengthening Alumni engagement, and advancing the AAF's philanthropic and advocacy impact at the national level. Success in this position relies on relationship strength, institutional credibility, and steady, values-driven leadership.The President & CEO will provide hands-on operational leadership, ensuring effective execution of priorities, disciplined financial management, and overall organizational performance and accountability. They will serve as the primary partner to the Board of Directors, supporting effective governance, strengthening trustee engagement, and advancing the AAF's mission. This role is less focused on scale-driven growth and more on building strong relationships and maintaining institutional credibility. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Academy's unique environment and be able to lead with integrity and vision to drive the organization forward.
