The client is seeking an accomplished healthcare executive to serve as President of its Coastal Region. This role combines meaningful scale, local autonomy, and lasting community impact, leading an integrated network of hospitals, physicians, and care teams across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings serving communities in Maine.
Reporting to the client’s Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Coastal Region Board, the President is accountable for strategic, operational, financial, and cultural performance. Responsibilities include shaping and executing regional strategy that advances quality, access, growth, and sustainability while integrating hospitals, service lines, and the medical group; ensuring strong performance in quality, safety, patient experience, and day-to-day operations; providing full stewardship of operating and capital budgets, including margin management and long-term financial health; and serving as a trusted senior leader to the board and executive leadership.
The President will also strengthen physician and clinical alignment by building collaborative relationships with employed and independent physicians and clinical leaders, and will lead people and culture by recruiting, developing, and inspiring a high-performing regional leadership team. The role includes visible community leadership across the region in partnership with government and external stakeholders, and may involve advancing the client’s mission while addressing the unique needs of coastal communities. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience as a President, CEO, or COO within a multi-hospital system or defined region, with a strong record in financial leadership, physician engagement, and system integration, along with credibility with boards, clinicians, and community stakeholders and a leadership style grounded in trust, visibility, and values alignment.
