The client seeks a mission-rooted, relational, and strategic leader to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will act as a visible ambassador and confident fundraiser, honor the organization’s legacy, and strengthen internal culture by empowering a strong leadership team and deepening partnerships with external stakeholders. The role leads a complex, multi-site hunger-relief organization into its next chapter, working to advance equitable, dignified access to nutritious, culturally responsive food for neighbors in need across rural and urban communities.
the CEO will partner with a board of 15 directors to clarify a next-chapter vision, translate strategy into clear priorities and measurable outcomes, and make disciplined decisions about what to start, stop, scale, or strengthen. Responsibilities include ensuring new initiatives are mission-aligned, sustainable, funded, measurable, and operationally feasible, while stewarding the organization’s mission and guiding regional impact. the CEO will also balance innovation with practicality to support disciplined execution across a service area that includes multiple locations and operational hubs.
the CEO will lead external engagement, fundraising, and advocacy with donors, civic leaders, public officials, volunteers, partner agencies, food donors, health systems, and media, as well as national and statewide food bank networks. The role will strengthen diverse revenue streams through major donor cultivation, broad-based giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, planned giving, grants, public funding, and board fundraising engagement, while building and expanding relationships across the service area. the CEO will deepen strategic partnerships with healthcare, education, workforce development, local food systems, government, peer nonprofits, and approximately 350 agency partners, support a broad program portfolio, and champion data-informed evaluation focused on access, dignity, health, partner strength, and program sustainability.
