The client seeks a President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the next chapter of growth, impact, and organizational development. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will steward the mission by advancing culturally responsive mental healthcare for East and Southeast Asian communities in the Greater Toronto Area, strengthening organizational capacity, and positioning the organization as a leading voice in community mental health. The role combines long-term vision with effective execution, with accountability across programs, people, operations, finances, risk management, and the HF Care Foundation.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive who can navigate complex health and social-service environments and lead organizations through growth and change. They will balance strategic priorities with near-term operational needs, make thoughtful decisions informed by data and community needs, and serve as a trusted relationship builder. This includes engaging effectively with Boards, employees, government stakeholders, funders, donors, healthcare partners, and community leaders, while demonstrating strong financial and organizational acumen, including the ability to attract, develop, and empower leaders and build a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Strong qualifications include an undergraduate degree in a related field, with a relevant master’s degree strongly preferred. The role also expects 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including at least five years in a senior executive role with responsibility for strategy, people, programs, and budgets of comparable scope and complexity. The candidate should have demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams of 50 or more staff, a culturally informed understanding of mental health experiences, stigma, and access barriers for East and Southeast Asian communities, and a grounding in diversity, equity, and inclusion principles that can be operationalized in day-to-day practice. Leadership is expected to be grounded in integrity, humility, courage, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness, with a genuine commitment to the mission.
