The client is seeking a President and CEO to serve as a motivating, unifying leader with a strong commitment to public service. The CEO will report to the client’s governing board and provide leadership across a system that coordinates public higher education institutions and serves a large statewide student population. As the system’s spokesperson, the CEO is expected to value, articulate, and champion educational advancement while building trust, credibility, and confidence with a wide range of stakeholders.
The client is looking for a forward-thinking higher education leader with sound management skills and demonstrated relationship-building abilities. The CEO will be expected to provide a stable, collaborative presence, act as a resource for both internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrate innovative, results-oriented administration grounded in high integrity. The role will require the ability to develop and implement a strategic vision and long-term goals for the system, and to support the governing board through effective advisory work related to policy, finance, academic affairs, and governance.
Key responsibilities include guiding teams to improve student outcomes by strengthening connections with K–12, economic and workforce development partners, and enhancing collaborations and partnerships with stakeholder groups. The CEO will serve as the primary spokesperson for the system, including communications with the legislature, the governor’s office, institutional representatives, business and media, civic organizations, and other public entities on matters affecting higher education.
