The client invites applications and nominations for a collaborative, transparent academic leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Pediatrician in Chief of a pediatric hospital within the M Health Fairview system. This leader will align pediatric care across a complex statewide ecosystem and guide a collegial group of faculty and staff to advance research, education, and clinical excellence. Key priorities include strengthening care for medically complex children, building and enhancing partnerships, elevating the department’s national and global profile, and expanding impact for children of Minnesota and beyond.
The Chair provides overall leadership for the department’s clinical, research, and educational programs and reports to the Dean of the Medical School and EVP for Health Affairs. The role requires experience managing in a multi-entity academic health system, strong financial acumen, and the ability to align academic and clinical priorities within a dynamic health care landscape. The department comprises faculty, trainees, and multiple fellowship programs, with clinical practice primarily delivered through the M Health Fairview network and partnerships with other pediatric providers for education, research, and clinical care.
Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree, be board-certified in pediatrics, and be eligible for licensure in Minnesota. The role is expected to work closely with the client and its affiliated entities as they navigate new strategic agreement terms, supporting ongoing research and clinical advancement and ensuring coordinated delivery of pediatric specialty care.
