The client is an exciting VC fund focused on early-stage technology companies in Southeast Asia and India. They have successfully closed two funds and are preparing for their third and fourth fundraises.
This new role involves managing relationships with existing institutional limited partners and leading follow-on fundraising. Reporting to the Managing Partner, the role primarily focuses on identifying and cultivating relationships with institutional investors and other significant investors.
The responsibilities include leading fundraising efforts for an upcoming fund, likely around $200 million, and contributing to the fund's strategic planning and long-term vision. The role involves representing the client at industry events, providing strategic guidance to portfolio companies, and leading deal negotiations.
Additionally, the Partner will act as an advisor to the investment team, handling investor interest and being a key contact for regulators across Southeast Asia and India. This position requires strong industry expertise, a network of contacts, and an ability to identify and nurture innovative businesses.
Ideal candidates should hold a Master's degree in Finance, Business, or another relevant field, with experience in investor or public relations. A successful track record in fundraising within private equity or venture capital, managing limited partner relationships, and running co-investment processes is essential.
The role demands the capability to work independently, with around 15 years of related experience being necessary for autonomy. Candidates with experience managing financial departments in Southeast Asia or the Asia-Pacific region might find the role suitable.
