The client is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive and senior leader, advancing the organization’s mission through leadership of organizational strategy, business planning, fundraising, daily operations, sustainability, and statewide impact. This role is responsible for guiding efforts across finances, programs, policy advocacy, partnerships, and organizational culture, and for providing visionary leadership that strengthens the client’s role as a trusted contributor to education policy, systems change, and cross-sector collaboration.
The Executive Director will lead a high-performing senior team and steward the client’s financial health while providing statewide programming. Responsibilities include supporting program delivery aligned to equity and sustainability goals, reinforcing data-driven evaluation and quality programming, and representing the mission in a variety of settings. The ED is expected to cultivate partnerships and engage community stakeholders, including those involved in education and outdoor-based learning initiatives, to expand training and resources for K–12 educators and community partners.
Qualified candidates will have senior management experience in a transferable field, a proven track record working effectively with staff and a board of directors, and systems thinking to advance strategic objectives. The client seeks experience building relationships and soliciting funds, fiscal management and budgeting experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications include nonprofit management experience and exposure to state education standards, along with the ability to navigate political nuance in legislative and school-system contexts; candidates should also demonstrate commitment to equity and inclusion, solution-oriented problem solving, and the capability to lead complex initiatives in a dynamic environment that may involve remote work.
