Description

The client is seeking a Senior Pantry Coordinator / Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a storefront and mobile food pantry programs. This role ensures pantry services are staffed appropriately, stocked with sufficient food and supplies, delivered safely and in a welcoming manner, and remain compliant with applicable partner, state, and federal requirements. The position is responsible for supporting strong service to pantry clients while coordinating the overall operation of distributions.

The client will supervise hourly pantry staff and volunteers, including recruiting, training, scheduling, providing coaching, and ensuring required background checks and clearances are completed and maintained for applicable individuals. The role coordinates food procurement and distribution, oversees ordering and receiving of deliveries, maintains inventory through appropriate food-safety practices (including storage and stock rotation), monitors the quality and safety of food distributed, and coordinates recurring donations with donors and community partners. The coordinator also maintains clean, organized, and safe pantry and storage areas, and tracks volunteer hours and relevant payroll information.

The client will maintain accurate and confidential client and operational records, complete documentation required by food partners and relevant agriculture and civil rights compliance processes, and manage inventory and distribution records for donated and purchased items. The role monitors and supports the pantry budget and prepares operational reports and other documentation as requested by the Executive Director. Required qualifications include strong supervision and organizational skills, excellent communication and customer service, ability to work effectively with diverse clients and stakeholders, strong computer skills, recordkeeping and confidentiality, ability to complete background checks and required clearances, and completion of annual Civil Rights Training (as well as obtaining ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification within a specified period if not already held). Preferred qualifications may include prior experience managing pantry or similar operations, supervising staff and volunteers, experience with inventory control and regulatory reporting, and Spanish-language proficiency; physical duties include standing for up to four hours, moving and organizing supplies, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working across storefront, warehouse, and mobile-distribution environments.
