The client is seeking a Non-Executive Member to join its Board during a pivotal period of reform in the health and care system. The role supports the client’s strategic commissioning responsibilities for a large local population, with a focus on delivering a high-quality, community-centred health and care system and improving health outcomes and wellbeing across a complex geography.
As part of the Board response to national expectations to reduce running and programme costs, the client is refocusing its role as a strategic commissioner, strengthening population health approaches, and streamlining how it operates. Opportunities are available at the Deputy Chair level and as a Non-Executive Member, with the purpose of managing risks while realising opportunities in delivering system ambitions and local partnership priorities, including long-term transformation goals.
The client is looking for values-driven individuals who can provide sound judgement, independence of thought, and constructive challenge. For the Deputy Chair, significant NHS experience is expected, gained through either Non-Executive or executive roles, along with the ability to chair committees effectively and operate confidently at a system level. For the Non-Executive Member, professional or lived experience that demonstrates strong connections to the communities served is expected; both roles also require integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, team wellbeing, and kind leadership.
