the client is seeking two exceptional Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to join its board at a pivotal time. Following the group’s formation, the participating organizations are preparing to formally merge to create a new NHS foundation trust, with responsibility for delivering services across multiple sites and serving a large local population. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the new organization at scale, supporting improvements in patient care, population health, innovation, and value for money, with an ambition to become an Advanced Foundation Trust.
One role will chair the Finance and Estates Committee, providing strong financial oversight, assurance, and strategic input related to estates and capital investment. The second role will bring experience in population health, public health, or commissioning, supporting the client to strengthen partnership working as it delivers its strategy in alignment with the NHS long-term direction. Both roles will contribute to board-level decision-making and help ensure the organization’s progress toward its research, innovation, and integrated care goals.
For both positions, the client is looking for candidates who can offer independent judgement, constructive challenge, and supportive leadership at board level. You should have a good understanding of governance, financial stewardship, and risk management, and be values-driven, inclusive, and motivated to make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of local communities. Applicants are expected to work through the client’s advisors to apply and may request a confidential conversation.
