Description

The client is seeking an MGA Program Executive to design, build, and lead an MGA platform from the ground up. This entrepreneurial leader will tailor the title and scope to the individual while driving a clear mandate: create and scale a profitable, differentiated, market-leading MGA. The role partners directly with leadership to define strategy, build the product, secure carrier backing, and stand up the operating infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include architecting the MGA structure and operating model, shaping product strategy and go-to-market approach, and evaluating optimal structures such as MGA versus hybrid models, carrier partnerships, and program design. The role will define underwriting philosophy using data and risk mitigation capabilities, develop guidelines and pricing frameworks, and create portfolio strategy. The executive will design and launch a specialty commercial property product with an initial focus on multifamily, integrating real-world risk controls into underwriting and pricing, and then establish program economics and capacity agreements.

The MGA Program Executive will serve as the primary interface with underwriting partners, secure and manage carrier or reinsurance partners, and establish operational infrastructure including compliance, filings, and workflows. The position will also involve building and leading a team over time across underwriting, operations, and technology, implementing systems and tools to support a modern, data-driven MGA, and developing scalable distribution strategies. The executive will act as an advisor on insurance strategy, continuously assess market fit, profitability, and scalability, and help shape the long-term evolution of the platform; qualifications include deep commercial property and casualty expertise (multifamily/property experience preferred), proven MGA experience, demonstrated underwriting and portfolio management ability, strong understanding of underwriting economics and carrier relationships, entrepreneurial drive to build from zero, and technology/data fluency with interest in insurtech and modern underwriting approaches, with CPCU preferred.
