The client is seeking a Metals Operations Executive to join its team in London. The role supports end-to-end metals operations connected to commodity trading activities, with a focus on 360° search solutions for global commodities markets and coverage across trading and financial counterparties.
Key responsibilities include managing back-office hedging and arbitrage logistics and operations, such as scheduling, letters of credit, bank contracts, bills of exchange, and bills of landing. The role will also monitor and execute contracts, handle complaints and issues raised by clients, and oversee shipping and invoicing documentation to support timely preparation, payment collection, and cargo release for metals including copper, molybdenum, and rhenium.
The Metals Operations Executive will help trial a new commercial platform with clients and counterparties. The position reports to the CEO and Operations Manager. Required qualifications include experience in commodity trading and/or shipping environments, a strong background in hedging operations (preferably related to copper or other metals), and experience with financial operations such as cash flow, accounts receivable/payables, bookings, reconciliations, monthly closing tasks, and file liquidation; fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
