the client is a privately held apparel and textile company with integrated capabilities across fabric sourcing and full-package apparel. the apparel division serves better specialty retailers through long-standing, partnership-oriented relationships, and also performs other private label business. The culture emphasizes tenure, accountability, and hands-on leadership within lean teams.

the client is seeking commercial leadership for the branded business in better specialty stores. The role provides ownership across merchandising and line architecture, demand and margin outcomes, and key account and supplier stewardship, with measured oversight of adjacent divisions. Ideal candidates are experienced commercial leaders from branded menswear, with specialty retail experience and familiarity with Chicago Collective preferred; they should be entrepreneurial operators comfortable owning results within lean teams.

Responsibilities include leading seasonal line planning, trend sensing, and assortment right-sizing; owning key account strategy, assortment presentations, negotiations, and growth; and managing supplier partnerships and cross-functional execution to meet margin and delivery targets. The role also oversees sales activity such as pipeline management, rep leadership, and in-season adjustments, while directing inventory targets, buys, replenishment, and exit strategies. Qualifications include strong experience owning assortment, pricing/costing, margin, and in-season management, along with established relationships with specialty retailers and confidence presenting at market or trade shows; domestic and international travel is expected.
