Description

The client is seeking a Medical Science Director/Medical Science Liaison for Northern California to support medical affairs activities across oncology and related therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, nephrology, and acute care. This full-time contractor role is remote and offsite, and will serve as a scientific resource to healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, pharmacy stakeholders, and institutional decision-makers across inpatient and outpatient settings. Core duties include compliant scientific exchange, insight gathering, and collaboration to advance medical affairs objectives.

The selected professional will identify and engage emerging and established key opinion leaders, develop and maintain relationships within healthcare systems, and support scientific discussions at medical congresses and advisory boards. They will contribute to medical affairs strategy, including publication planning and evidence dissemination initiatives. Responsibilities also include supporting clinical trial site identification, investigator education, and investigator-sponsored research initiatives, along with responding to medical information requests in compliance with established policies.

In addition, the role includes documenting adverse events and maintaining expertise in relevant disease states and products, while providing scientific education and training to internal stakeholders and collaborating to drive aligned objectives. Requirements include an advanced healthcare or scientific degree (such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, or PA-C or equivalent). Oncology experience is required, with experience in infectious disease and nephrology, critical care, or supportive oncology strongly preferred, along with demonstrated ability to engage healthcare systems and institutional stakeholders, exceptional scientific communication and presentation skills, strong relationship-building capabilities, and proficiency in evaluating scientific literature and interpreting complex clinical and scientific information.
