Description

The client is seeking a field-based Medical Science Director to serve as a clinical and scientific resource across oncology and related specialty therapeutic areas. This role builds scientific relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, and healthcare systems, and facilitates evidence-based discussions while gathering medical insights. The Medical Science Director will support both marketed and pipeline therapies through collaboration across functions, contributing to medical strategy, education, and patient care.

Key responsibilities include supporting medical affairs activities through compliant scientific exchange and insight gathering across oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, and acute care. The role engages healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, pharmacy stakeholders, and institutional decision-makers in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Medical Science Director will assist with medical strategy development and execution, including publication planning and evidence dissemination, and will identify and support clinical trial sites, investigators, and referral networks to help enable study enrollment and execution. The position also responds to unsolicited medical information requests in accordance with corporate policies and applicable regulatory guidelines, and provides scientific education and training to internal teams while working effectively in a matrix environment.

The role requires an advanced healthcare or scientific degree (such as PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA-C, or equivalent) and prior clinical experience working with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients. Oncology experience is preferred, along with additional experience in infectious disease, nephrology, or critical care. The Medical Science Director should have exceptional scientific communication and presentation skills, strong relationship-building abilities with healthcare providers and institutional stakeholders, and the ability to evaluate scientific literature, interpret medical data, and gather insights. The candidate should be able to operate independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and demonstrate high levels of professionalism, integrity, and compliance orientation.
