Description

A field-based Medical Science Director / Medical Science Liaison will support Medical Affairs through compliant scientific exchange, insight gathering, and cross-functional collaboration across oncology and related therapeutic areas, which may include infectious disease, nephrology, and acute/critical care. The role partners with healthcare providers and key opinion leaders, as well as pharmacy leaders and institutional stakeholders, across both inpatient and outpatient settings to advance medical strategy, evidence generation, and scientific engagement activities such as congresses, advisory boards, and education.

Key responsibilities include supporting Medical Affairs initiatives through compliant scientific exchange and insight gathering across oncology and related areas; building trusted relationships with healthcare providers, KOLs, pharmacy stakeholders, and institutional decision-makers; and contributing to the development and execution of medical strategy, including publication planning and evidence dissemination. The role will also help identify and support clinical trial sites, investigators, and referral networks to facilitate study enrollment and execution, respond to unsolicited medical information requests in line with corporate policies and regulatory guidance, and provide scientific education and training to internal teams while collaborating in a matrix environment to meet medical objectives.

Advanced healthcare or scientific degree is required (such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA-C, or equivalent). Oncology experience is required, with experience in infectious disease, nephrology, or critical care strongly preferred. Preferred qualifications include prior field medical/MSL experience and experience within an academic, healthcare, or pharmaceutical setting. The role also requires exceptional scientific communication and presentation skills, strong relationship-building capabilities, proficiency in scientific literature evaluation and medical data interpretation, the ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities, and a high level of professionalism, integrity, and compliance orientation.
