As the Medical Research Director, the client will lead and oversee internal research projects, coordinating with external research centers on basic, preclinical, and applied work related to new active ingredients and formulations. The role includes assessing the scientific, clinical, and economic feasibility of R&D initiatives, ensuring technical and regulatory quality for studies conducted in collaboration with academic and clinical partners, and driving innovation and knowledge transfer into the product development pipeline. The Director will also evaluate external research and co-development licensing opportunities and lead the preparation, submission, and coordination of the organization’s research plan.
The Medical Research Director will design, coordinate, and supervise clinical trials while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice and relevant European and country-specific regulations and guidelines. The role involves coordinating with investigators, contract research organizations, ethics committees, and relevant clinical centers, and managing review and approval of clinical trial protocols, informed consents, reports, and scientific publications. The Director will lead dissemination of clinical results and help strengthen the organization’s scientific presence through participation in national and international scientific congresses.
In addition, the Director will lead Medical Affairs activities and align them with corporate strategic objectives, building strong relationships with dermatology specialists, scientific organizations, hospitals, and key opinion leaders. The role includes providing medical and scientific support to Marketing, Commercial, and Communication teams to ensure scientific rigor and ethical standards, overseeing medical review of promotional materials and product technical documentation, and promoting internal medical training on products and clinical trends. The position is expected to draw on scientific leadership, strategic vision, strong influencing and communication skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to work transversally across R&D, Marketing, and Commercial teams; it also typically requires a degree in Medicine or Life Sciences, with advanced research-focused education and extensive leadership experience in pharmaceutical or dermocosmetic-related settings as preferred qualifications.
