The Marketing and PR Director role operates with a global mindset and a focus on local execution, serving as the central point for ex-China marketing, communications, and brand strategy. In this position, you will help align external messaging with the organization’s core strategy, technology platforms, and incubated new ventures, ensuring communications remain consistent and clear across regions and audiences.
Key responsibilities include consolidating and simplifying the overarching messaging framework; building a proactive external communications engine with visibility into corporate, partnering, and clinical milestones; and acting as the primary U.S. escalation point for media relations and coordination with PR agencies, including processes to onboard brand partners. You will also drive marketing tailored to Western biopharma partners, investors, and the U.S. market, while supporting business development–led activities, and develop thought leadership and executive visibility strategies for major conferences and partnering events.
Success in this role typically requires a strong background in marketing and public relations within life sciences, along with extensive experience in corporate communications, marketing, or external relations in biopharma or related domains. The role expects proven ability to translate complex science into boardroom-ready narratives, demonstrated experience bridging U.S. and China teams, strategic judgment and autonomy to manage U.S. PR agencies and coordinate with executive leadership and relevant internal functions, and fluency in English with Mandarin valued for cross-continent coordination. The client offers a permanent role with standard local benefits and a competitive salary range.
