This role provides direct ownership and accountability for the organization’s strategic direction and market performance, with responsibilities that include serving as the organization’s public face in the community. The Market President will develop and execute strategies that support growth, innovation, and excellence aligned with the organization’s mission.
The Market President will be responsible for leading the development and growth of hospital and ambulatory cancer services, as well as cancer outreach programs. Core oversight includes hospital and ambulatory operations, including strategic planning, budgeting, support services, clinical growth, patient experience, quality, performance improvement, and patient safety. The position will lead the Phoenix market within the framework of the client’s broader enterprise structure and operating model.
Ideal candidates are market CEO–caliber executives with strong executive presence and demonstrated credibility with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, elected officials, healthcare partners, physicians, and researchers, within a complex, matrixed environment. Key responsibilities include planning and directing organizational objectives and initiatives; developing short- and long-range management and organization plans; providing performance leadership for executive direct reports and having final approval for executive hiring and promotions; presenting regular business reviews to the Chief Executive Officer; collaborating on major enterprise decisions and assigned projects; optimizing support services and information technology to meet business objectives; strengthening philanthropic and civic partnerships; ensuring an exceptional patient and family experience through continuous improvement; partnering with clinical leadership on physician attraction and retention; and overseeing business development and expansion planning, including budgets, supply chain, capital spending, staffing, and physician recruitment.
