The position of Managing Director USA is responsible for leading the US business operations of the client, a global food company. This role requires developing and executing strategic plans to drive growth and profitability while identifying new market opportunities and product innovations. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment with the parent company's objectives and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, and retailers through effective sales and marketing strategies. The role also involves overseeing compliance with national and international food industry regulations, driving sustainability initiatives, and managing risks related to food safety, environmental impact, and supply chain disruptions.
In this leadership position, the successful applicant will oversee the production processes to ensure efficiency, cost control, and compliance with quality and food safety regulations. Responsibilities also include aligning sales forecasts with production capacity and inventory levels through effective sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes, driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles, and optimizing supply chain efficiency and sustainability. The individual will be expected to manage profitability by overseeing financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, cost control, and securing necessary funding and strategic partnerships.
The candidate must possess extensive progressive leadership experience in the food manufacturing industry, capable of developing and executing strategic plans and leading organizational transformation. A strong track record in P&L management and experience managing complex supply chains within a global matrix organization is required. The role demands commercial experience across channels such as foodservice, retail, and private-label and experience in mergers and acquisitions and market expansion. Additional qualifications include expertise in food safety regulations, lean manufacturing, S&OP processes, and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
