The client is seeking a Managing Director for their Australia & New Zealand division, responsible for leading a team of 80 employees and over 1,000 retailers. The ideal candidate will set and execute strategic direction, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive profitable growth. Key responsibilities include financial management, identifying growth opportunities, and building strong relationships with customers and partners.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in executive leadership roles with full P&L responsibility, ideally within consumer products, retail, or celebrations industries. Experience working with major retailers such as Big W and Spotlight is essential, as is a strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand retail landscape. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, operational and financial management skills, and a hands-on approach to customer growth.
In addition to leading the team and driving business growth, the Managing Director will be responsible for championing continuous improvement in efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The client is looking for a strategic thinker with M&A and international business experience, as well as a bachelor's degree (an MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
