the client is seeking a senior leader to originate and lead mergers and acquisitions, platform build-ups, and brownfield and greenfield opportunities across waste and circular-economy value chains, including e-waste recycling, metals recovery, battery recycling, and related assets. The role will define and execute the platform growth strategy across Spain and relevant value-chain segments, conduct market assessment covering regulation, feedstock availability, pricing dynamics, and competitive landscape, and ensure alignment with applicable WEEE directives, national e-waste regulations, environmental permitting, and ESG frameworks. The position also owns and drives the long-term strategic plan and leads post-acquisition integration and value creation initiatives.
The successful applicant will have 20+ years of experience in one or more areas such as waste management or environmental services, infrastructure or energy transition investing, circular economy, recycling, or industrial processing, or corporate development and strategy. They should bring a strong track record in originating and executing complex transactions, with deep understanding of WEEE or e-waste economics, regulatory drivers, and operational realities. Experience engaging institutional investors, boards, and investment committees is expected, along with demonstrated commercial, strategic, and financial acumen, and credible senior presence capable of working effectively with C-suite stakeholders, investors, and regulators.
This leadership role will support an entrepreneurial, fast-scaling platform environment, with strong negotiation skills and sound investment judgement as key requirements. An international mindset and fluent English are required, with additional languages a plus.
