The client is seeking a Managing Director of Development for College Advancement to provide strategic leadership and direction for fundraising across assigned colleges, working closely with deans and faculty to set fundraising priorities and ensure alignment with the institution’s strategic plan. This position includes both relationship-focused development responsibilities and senior leadership of a team.
As a lead fundraiser, the Managing Director will maintain a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects while also managing a team of four major gift officers. The role will involve cultivating relationships with top donors and volunteers, partnering with internal stakeholders to advance donor engagement efforts, and driving progress toward fundraising goals through coordinated strategy and execution.
The client values a people-first, donor-centered advancement culture and seeks leaders who can bring purpose, collaboration, creativity, and drive to fundraising efforts in a Catholic higher education setting. The Managing Director is expected to demonstrate strong leadership and relationship-management skills, work effectively across academic units, and help the advancement organization “raise the bar” for what is possible in its mission and fundraising outcomes.
