Description

The client is seeking a US Managing Director to help drive growth for a fast-growing mass market personal care company entering and scaling the US market. This role will actively participate in building the company’s strategic plan for the coming years with the Global CEO, and lead the transition from distributor-led distribution to a direct go-to-market model with key mass retail and online accounts.

Core responsibilities include leading the company’s shift to direct relationships with key accounts, helping open new large mass retailers, and developing and expanding business with existing accounts across both in-store and online channels. The role will also support the alignment of operations that are currently spread across regions, with marketing based in LA and sales and operations more concentrated in the NYC area or broader East Coast.

The ideal candidate is a senior omnichannel executive with strong US sales leadership experience, ideally at the VP Sales level, and demonstrated experience managing relationships with key accounts such as CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Ulta, with additional experience supporting Amazon and DTC growth being advantageous. The role is expected to require a strong background in beauty/personal care categories and substantial P&L experience, with a profile that may include prior leadership titles such as General Manager, Managing Director, Country Manager, COO, Head of Sales & Marketing, or CEO; the candidate should be based in either NYC or LA and be able to travel regularly between the two offices and across the US.
