The Managing Director, Technology is a key leadership role within the client, responsible for the overall vision and strategic direction of the organization's technology systems, services, and infrastructure. This position involves leading a team of 20 technology professionals, including directors responsible for various aspects such as Infrastructure, Client Services & Support, Applications & Data, and IT Business Operations. The Managing Director will ensure that the organization's technology initiatives align with the mission to provide high-quality education and support to students and families, ensuring systems are secure and forward-thinking.
The primary responsibilities of the Managing Director include leading the technology team by fostering a collaborative and equitable culture, focused on continuous improvement and transparent performance management. This role involves developing and mentoring team members to ensure high performance in support of the organization's mission. In collaboration with the technology leadership team, the Managing Director will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and clear workflows, while also advising senior leaders on technology performance, potential risks, opportunities, and strategic direction.
The ideal candidate for the role is a systems-oriented leader with a passion for mission-driven work and expertise in building resilient teams, designing robust structures, and leading organizational change. The Managing Director will also work in cross-functional collaborations with various regional teams to integrate innovative technology solutions across the client's academic, operational, and administrative functions to support the educational mission. The role reports directly to the Chief Operations & Information Officer, serving as a senior leader within the support and technology team.
