Description

The client, a highly successful international retailer expanding its United States operations, is seeking an In-House Legal Counsel specializing in real estate transactions and leasing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating retail lease agreements, transaction documents, and related legal documents. They will also provide legal advice on lease-related issues, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves managing relationships with external counsel, landlords, insurance, and financing, as well as providing strategic legal guidance to support business objectives.

The successful candidate for this role will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and at least 5 years of experience in real estate leasing and transactions representing retail tenants or landlords. Strong knowledge of retail leasing and real estate law, excellent negotiation and drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively are required. The candidate must also have exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and time management skills. Candidates must be based in Charlotte, North Carolina or open to relocating to the area with US work authorization.

In return, the client is offering a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $150,000, a discretionary annual bonus, 401(k) match up to 4%, comprehensive healthcare coverage, competitive time off, and a flexible hybrid working arrangement based in Charlotte.
