The client is seeking a Legal Counsel focused on AI-related products and technologies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role will provide legal guidance to support AI initiatives, help identify and address legal and regulatory risks, and advise stakeholders on AI compliance and risk management strategies. It will also support the development and implementation of internal policies and practices related to AI governance, as well as deliver training sessions on relevant AI legal topics for internal teams.
The successful candidate will draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to AI technologies, partnerships, and licensing. They will also monitor and advise on emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting AI, particularly within financial services contexts. The role includes providing counsel on intellectual property matters, including patents, copyrights, and trade secrets, as they relate to AI innovations, and delivering practical guidance across legal, regulatory, and business stakeholders.
Qualifications include a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, and active membership in the New York State Bar. The client expects extensive experience in product counseling, particularly for AI-related legal matters, along with strong knowledge of laws and regulations impacting AI and financial services. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
