The client is seeking a Lead Specialist 6 Transport Sector Resilience Expert to join their team at the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). The CDRI is a global partnership focused on promoting the resilience of infrastructure systems against climate and disaster risks to ensure sustainable development. The Lead Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the resilience of transportation infrastructure systems in CDRI member countries, including roads, railways, airways, and waterways.
Key responsibilities for the role include leading the formulation and execution of technical assistance initiatives for resilient transportation infrastructure, conducting technical studies and risk assessments, promoting disaster- and climate-resilient design in transport infrastructure planning, and facilitating the mobilization of experts and financial resources to support resilience initiatives. The Lead Specialist will also be responsible for developing and delivering training programs, preparing technical guidance notes, and collaborating with national and international institutions for joint learning and knowledge exchange. Additionally, the role involves project design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, as well as representing CDRI at regional and global platforms related to resilient transportation infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in planning, designing, and implementing transport infrastructure projects across various networks, proficiency in project and risk management, and familiarity with resilience standards. Effective stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills, advanced proficiency in project management tools, exceptional communication and analytical skills, and experience working in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams are also required. Knowledge of international frameworks such as the SDGs, the Sendai Framework, and the Paris Agreement, as well as prior experience working in international or multi-country organizations, are preferred qualifications for this role.
