Description

As a Program Manager for Foster Care Services in Virginia, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed clinical services that support the stability and well-being of youth in care. In this department head role, you will provide strategic oversight, offer direct supervision to a small team of clinicians, and serve as a key consultant and advocate to drive meaningful outcomes for children and their foster and biological families. Your work will emphasize resilience, self-sufficiency, and a sense of belonging for vulnerable youth and families within a mission-driven organization.

You will ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and oversee program documentation while maintaining high standards of care. Responsibilities also include leading comprehensive clinical trainings for new staff and interns, developing coordinated, client-centered services in partnership with families, foster parents, and external stakeholders, and providing clinical support during crisis situations by offering guidance and planning for longer-term treatment and follow-up.

You will bring a Master’s degree in Social Work or a Master’s (or PhD) in Psychology, Sociology, or another relevant behavioral science field where clinical experience is a program requirement, along with 2+ years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience. You will hold LCSW licensure in Virginia or be eligible to obtain it, and you will have 2+ years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to empower staff and foster collaboration. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred, and experience working with refugee and immigrant populations and familiarity with relevant foster care systems are also preferred.
