Labor and Employment Associate Attorney role with a collaborative, defense-side practice focused on sophisticated litigation. The Tampa office is seeking an attorney to immediately contribute to a busy labor and employment team, providing direct client interaction and opportunities for long-term career growth. The position emphasizes independent case management alongside team collaboration across the firm’s labor and employment practice.
Requirements include an active Florida Bar license in good standing, along with 4–6 years of labor and employment litigation experience. Candidates should have strong defense-side labor and employment experience, the ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, and experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings. Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills, along with excellent communication and client relationship management, exceptional organizational skills, and strong academic credentials are also expected.
Responsibilities include managing labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution; drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda; conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies; and taking and defending depositions. The attorney will prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings, communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses, and collaborate with partners and attorneys within the labor and employment practice. Practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to employer clients are a core part of the role.
