The Miller Professor and Director serves as a full-time tenured member of the faculty within the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and reports to the chair of the home department. The client expects the appointment to be at the associate or full professor level, with the individual serving as Director of Arts Leadership. The role will teach classes in arts administration and is oriented toward building an undergraduate program in interdisciplinary arts leadership, with an emphasis on integrating business and finance elements and incorporating thoughtful representation from arts and humanities, including international languages, as appropriate to broaden program dimensions.
Successful candidates are expected to be nationally and/or internationally connected in the business of the arts and to demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building potential with donors and advancement. The role also calls for creativity and imagination to leverage partnerships beyond the college to support the growth of the Arts Leadership program.
