The client is seeking an experienced Head of Tax to lead global tax affairs on an interim basis, joining in September and continuing through the end of 2027. The role reports to the CFO and collaborates closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Finance Leadership Team, while also maintaining relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. During a period of significant organisational development, the Head of Tax will provide strategic and technical support across all tax matters affecting the business.
Operating across more than 80 jurisdictions, with the US identified as a primary focus, this position will provide guidance on US tax matters and broader global tax responsibilities. The Head of Tax will lead and empower the tax team, which is primarily based in the UK with an additional team in the US, supporting a decentralised tax operating model and ongoing communication with regional finance teams. The role also involves being hands-on where required, including support relating to M&A and divestments, as well as establishing and maintaining appropriate tax policies and processes.
To be considered, candidates are expected to have operated for some time as a Head of Tax, with FTSE experience preferred, and M&A experience regarded as essential. It is advantageous to have experience managing, or working very closely with, a US tax team, reflecting the importance of US tax exposure. Commitment for the full interim duration starting in September is required.
