Interim Head of Service – All Age Commissioning is a high-impact leadership role during a period of transition following the resignation of the substantive postholder. The client will provide visible, confident leadership to ensure continuity, stability, and momentum across a recently restructured commissioning function, reporting into a senior leadership team that values autonomy and trust. The position will balance strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, bringing clarity, pace, and structure while supporting established teams to embed new ways of working.
The client will lead and stabilise all-age commissioning services during change, maintaining continuity of service delivery and performance across the function. Key responsibilities include driving programmes such as supported living and commissioning frameworks, while providing assurance through clear prioritisation and a focused grip on delivery. The client will support and develop teams by building confidence and accountability post-restructure, and will be expected to make an immediate difference through judgement and delivery focus in a fast-moving environment.
The client will bring extensive leadership experience within adult social care commissioning and a strong understanding of all-age commissioning models and frameworks. They will have a proven track record of leading teams through transition and organisational change, establishing credibility quickly with senior stakeholders and partners, and demonstrating a practical, delivery-focused leadership style with pace and clarity.
