The client is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function through continued growth, acquisition integration, and operational stabilization. This role will support talent attraction, engagement, and retention as critical business priorities, helping strengthen employee trust and build culture while HR transitions from stabilization into strategic execution.
The interim leader will partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team and lead a small, capable HR team. Responsibilities include establishing clear priorities and ownership; overseeing payroll, benefits, HRIS administration, compliance, and employee data remediation; managing open enrollment; supporting workforce integration from a recent acquisition; coordinating internal HR resources and external consultants to deliver key projects; and creating and implementing a strategic HR roadmap that balances immediate operational needs with long-term objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on player-coach who combines strategic thinking with the ability to execute in a practical, approachable manner. The role will typically require proven experience leading HR in a growing or operationally complex organization, managing lean HR teams, supporting field-based workforces in industrial, manufacturing, construction, logistics, energy, transportation, or skilled trades environments, and driving HR transformation, systems improvements, integration efforts, and change management. Strong partnership with executive leadership on business and people strategy, along with an ability to build trust across all levels while contributing ideas on talent, engagement, and organizational effectiveness, is expected.
