Interim Head of Alternative Provision is a pivotal leadership role providing immediate operational and strategic oversight for a well-established alternative provision supporting around 150 students. Reporting directly to the Executive Headteacher, the position combines day-to-day leadership with visible, hands-on responsibility, including preparation for a potential Autumn Term inspection. The role is expected to bring stability, pace, and clear direction from day one.
Key responsibilities include leading and inspiring the day-to-day running of the provision by setting clear expectations and high standards, driving school improvement through quality assurance and strong operational performance, and ensuring readiness for inspection through self-evaluation, evidence gathering, staff confidence, and inspection preparation. The role will also maintain excellence in safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, and student outcomes, while developing senior leaders by holding direct reports to account and building a culture of continuous improvement.
