Interim Head of Adult Social Care Quality Assurance is an opportunity to lead a high-impact quality assurance function during a period of transition, moving from an outsourced model back in-house. The role will combine strategic direction with operational delivery, with senior visibility and a clear mandate to act. You will quickly assess risk across the provider market and establish a robust, credible, and highly visible approach to quality oversight, helping set expectations and build confidence at a critical time.
Key responsibilities include redesigning governance and oversight to create a strong, transparent quality assurance framework; leading the transition in-house by managing workforce implications and embedding a fit-for-purpose structure; and driving proactive provider oversight through quality visits and rapid response to emerging concerns. You will also clarify risk across the market, including escalation into safeguarding where required, and focus on building capability and pace through recruitment, leadership, and culture change.
The position is suited to an experienced interim who has extensive adult social care quality assurance expertise, including provider oversight, and can deliver quality frameworks from design through to implementation. You should bring transformation credentials, such as service redesign and workforce transition, along with credibility at senior level to influence, challenge, and set clear direction. A delivery-focused mindset and the ability to operate confidently at pace in complex, sensitive environments are essential for establishing grip, improving visibility, and embedding a quality function that is effective, trusted, and sustainable.
