the client is seeking an interim CFO to lead fundraising and financial strategy for a high-growth space technology company scaling revenue from the mid-teens toward $60M+. the client operates across defense and commercial markets, has a small, focused team, and is preparing for a venture capital growth phase that may include a seed-to-Series A capital raise. This is a contract or interim role, or potentially a temp-to-perm arrangement, focused on building investor-grade financial models, strengthening the fundraising narrative, and supporting capital raise execution.
The interim CFO will develop and refine the company’s financial narrative for venture capital investors, build and stress-test fundraising strategies (including capital requirements and use of funds), and support the CEO in investor outreach, meetings, and diligence processes. Key responsibilities also include defining optimal fundraising structure, timing, and sequencing; advising on equity strategy, dilution, and valuation positioning; and preparing materials for current and future rounds. The client expects the CFO to act as a strategic partner to the CEO on growth, scaling, and capital allocation decisions, providing financial insight to support hiring, sales expansion, and operational scaling. Required qualifications include proven experience as a founder, CFO, or senior finance leader in venture-backed or high-growth environments, demonstrated success raising venture capital (including seed and Series A+), strong financial modeling and forecasting expertise, and the ability to communicate complex technical businesses effectively to investors; preferred experience may include deep tech or aerospace/defense or hardware-enabled software backgrounds, familiarity with government contracts and dual-use models, and experience scaling companies from roughly $10M to $50M+ revenue.
