Description

The client is seeking an Information Governance Officer to contribute to a significant data transformation initiative. Data governance is a pivotal component of the client's strategy, and the officer will play a key role in designing and implementing a practical data governance framework. This position involves working on multiple data projects to map complex data flows, define governance standards, and ensure compliance as new digital platforms and data services are introduced. The role demands strategic insight and the ability to deliver results efficiently.

Core responsibilities include mapping the end-to-end data ecosystem across multiple teams, designing and embedding a governance framework, and supporting the delivery of a secure, centralized digital data platform. The officer will also provide advice on and process Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). The position involves defining data ownership models, access protocols, and data flows, as well as collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to educate teams on best practices in governance and ensure integration into projects and product designs.

Ideal candidates will possess strong experience in Information Governance, both in an advisory capacity and hands-on roles. They should have a proven ability to work across complex environments and a solid understanding of DSARs, DPIAs, and data protection requirements. Experience in mapping data flows and designing data governance frameworks is essential. The role also requires confidence in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including technical teams and senior leaders, and a pragmatic, personable approach to work. The position is likely based in a dynamic, possibly multi-organization setting, requiring effective communication and integration skills.
