The client seeks a visionary, student-centered leader to serve as the inaugural dean of a newly established School of Engineering and Computing. The school will bring together existing engineering and computer science departments characterized by strong growth and a commitment to engaged experiential learning, and will support new pathways for innovation across engineering, computing, and related fields.
The dean will provide chief academic and administrative leadership, guiding faculty excellence, supporting student success, stewarding resources, and representing the school to internal and external partners. This role will shape the school’s identity, culture, and strategic direction; strengthen existing programs; and develop new offerings aligned with the evolving landscape of engineering and computing, with a collaborative, relationship-focused approach that may include alumni, industry, and donors to build long-term support.
The dean is expected to report to the provost and serve as a champion for outstanding teaching and experiential learning. The search will be conducted by a national executive search firm on a confidential basis, with applications, nominations, and inquiries reviewed until an appointment is made, and all submissions are intended to address the position priorities described for the role.
