Description

The client invites applications for the position of inaugural Chair of the Department of Engineering at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This position is part of the newly established School of Engineering and presents an opportunity for an innovative leader to shape a developing department during an exciting period of strategic growth. The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering, with accreditation already achieved for the latter and anticipated for the former. A new interdisciplinary program in Integrated Engineering and Business has been approved, and additional engineering programs are in planning stages.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent in engineering, with preferred expertise in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of academic experience is required, demonstrating a record of scholarship commensurate with the rank sought and a commitment to undergraduate education. Proven academic leadership experience, such as serving as a department chair or program director, along with supervising and mentoring faculty and staff, is essential. Candidates should possess familiarity with ABET accreditation processes, curriculum development experience, and excellent communication skills.
