The client is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead the people strategy for its U.S. manufacturing operation in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. This highly visible leadership role reports directly to the Managing Director and partners closely with international HR leadership, with responsibility for the HR function supporting approximately 250–300 associates. The organization is part of a larger international group with operations across Europe and North America.
In this position, the Human Resources Director will strengthen the company’s culture and employee engagement, and drive talent development across the business. Key responsibilities include supporting engagement, retention, succession planning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and workforce strategy; building and maintaining career development and training programs; and partnering with leadership on labor cost management, compensation strategy, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. The role also supports the attraction, development, and retention of both hourly and salaried talent, while serving as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and the leadership team.
The ideal candidate is an HR leader with progressive experience, including a hands-on, highly visible approach and strong stakeholder influence across all levels of the organization. The client expects experience in manufacturing or similarly operational environments, strong commercial acumen, and knowledge of labor costs, compensation programs, workforce planning, and people analytics. Additional qualifications include demonstrated success in talent management, succession planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness, experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations, and strong employee relations expertise with exposure to union environments or union avoidance strategies. A bachelor’s degree is required, with advanced HR, business, or related qualifications preferred.
