The client is seeking a senior translational and clinical research leader to ensure smooth progression of drug candidates from preclinical stages through IND-enabling studies and into early-phase clinical trials. Reporting to the Chief R&D Officer, the role will support IND preparation for CDE, FDA, and other market requirements, and will lead and manage translational and clinical research programs aligned with organizational goals, with a focus on cancer.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing research strategies that support product development and innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align research and business objectives, and overseeing data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making. The role will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout all research activities, and will identify and foster partnerships with external stakeholders to expand research capabilities.
Candidates should have an MD, PhD, or MD in a relevant biomedical discipline, with board certification in oncology preferred. The role typically requires a strong background in biotech/pharma/CRO and extensive experience in oncology drug development and early clinical trials, along with demonstrated expertise in IND-enabling studies, clinical trial design, and regulatory submissions. Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and presentation skills are essential, and proficiency in English is expected with Mandarin preferred; the position is based in Hong Kong.
