The client is seeking a Head of Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain strategy and operations across multiple European plants. This role is a key member of the management team, with responsibility for optimizing supply chain processes to meet high standards of efficiency and quality, and for helping shape the European growth direction and future supply chain operating model in collaboration with the executive team.
The Head of Supply Chain will lead and develop experienced supply chain teams, support constructive collaboration with unions, and ensure operational stability while driving continuous improvement. The position includes securing successful launch and ramp-up of new (greenfield) plants, optimizing end-to-end flow and transport solutions with a focus on margin improvement, partnering with procurement to manage transport negotiations and sourcing decisions, overseeing external warehousing solutions to translate capacity into improved turnover and margin, and leading automation and digitalization initiatives.
Success in this role is expected to be supported by strong interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills, including a proven ability to act as a change manager. The client expects a relevant master’s degree and at least five years of experience in a similar end-to-end supply chain management role, preferably in international OEM automotive manufacturing, along with strong knowledge of supply chain management systems and practices (e.g., ERP). Fluency in English is required, with French and German as assets, and readiness to travel up to 30% is expected; candidates must be able to work on the client’s payroll.
