the client is seeking a Head of Stainless Steel to build and lead its stainless steel trading activities across international markets. The role focuses on driving 360° search and market coverage for global commodities and leveraging established industry connections within stainless-steel trading houses, producers, and related market participants to support growth in a volatile environment.
Key responsibilities include leveraging an existing stainless-steel client base to generate immediate trading volume and expand market presence, developing global sourcing channels, and strengthening a European customer base. The role will execute trades across stainless flat and long products from origin to destination, and take full responsibility for the region’s P&L while providing reporting to senior executive management.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record trading stainless flat and/or long products, along with strong knowledge of EU markets, trade flows, and relevant regulations. They should bring an established, transferable portfolio of customers and suppliers, and be a self-starter capable of building and growing a trading desk and managing complexity in a fast-paced, international environment, including willingness to travel.
