The client is expanding rapidly in Asia and is seeking a highly experienced Settlements Specialist to join their B2C and B2B teams. The role involves managing a stable team, enhancing governance and controls, and driving process improvements to reduce manual work. Key responsibilities include leading the global settlement function, overseeing trade, deposit, and withdrawal operations across multiple asset classes, and strengthening governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Additional duties include championing automation and implementing system enhancements to improve efficiency, reducing manual work, and serving as the subject matter expert for complex settlement issues. The Settlements Specialist will work closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams, as well as banks, custodians, and regulators. The role requires providing strategic oversight, reporting, and leadership to support team development and operational excellence.
Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field, along with over 10 years of experience in settlements or operations, with managerial experience in traditional financial institutions. Experience in FinTech, crypto, or digital asset exchanges is a plus. A strong background in governance, risk, and control frameworks, as well as settlement systems and automation tools, is required. Candidates should have expert knowledge of settlement practices across FX, securities, and/or digital assets, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and fluency in Mandarin and English.
