The Head of Service 6 Adoption Services position is an initial 4-month interim contract within a Local Authority in the South West. Reporting to the Director of Commissioning of Children's Services, the role involves leading the delivery of Adoption Services to meet strategic objectives and ensure high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities include providing strategic and managerial support to Adoption Services managers and staff, overseeing compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, managing the budget, and responding to national and regional policy initiatives in Adoption.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Head of Service role or higher, with expertise in corporate parenting. Active registration with Social Work England is required, along with proven leadership skills and a track record of service innovation. The role also involves managing staff, ensuring safeguarding practices are robust, and advising and reporting to the Adoption Services Operational and Strategic Boards.
