The client seeks an experienced and proven academic leader for the Head of School position. This role is responsible for leading with integrity and purpose, and for maintaining a strong commitment to the Classical Education model. The Head of School will empower teachers to teach effectively and support students in achieving high levels of learning, while promoting a safe, orderly environment and servant leadership across the school community.
The Head of School serves as the instructional and cultural leader, expected to uphold The client’s Classical Model and to promote academic excellence. Responsibilities include articulating and advancing the school mission; ensuring clear communication of the vision among staff, students, and families; supporting consistent instructional practices across grade levels; providing timely, constructive feedback; using multiple sources of data and research-based practices to guide improvement; and monitoring student achievement and staff performance to inform ongoing development. The role also focuses on building a professional, collegial culture grounded in reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership (preferred) or equivalent professional experience, valid educational leadership certification in Georgia at Tier II level or meeting the qualifications to obtain it, and at least five years of successful leadership experience in an educational setting. The candidate must demonstrate effective communication and positive relationship-building with staff, students, and families, and be able to pass an extensive background check. Preferred expectations include a deep understanding of children, genuine passion for education, enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration, full alignment with Classical Education philosophy, and professional, purposeful leadership; the position is based in Macon, Georgia.
